PB Edwin and Vesta Lucetta Bishop Twitchell

I received the PB's of my 3rd Great Grandparents Edwin and Vesta Lucetta Bishop Twitchell. Their oldest daughter, Beatrice Twitchell Heaps, is my 2nd Great Grandmother. Edwin and Vesta were married on 24 February 1860 in Fillmore, Utah and were sealed in the Endowment House 31 October 1863. I wrote a bit about Edwin and Vesta on Beatrice's PB post so go read about them there.

Edwin was born 23 May 1836 in Spring Creek, McDonough, Illinois. I found Edwin and his family in the 1850 US Census in Tuolumne, California! According to Wikipedia, Tuolumne was a logging town, so that might be why they were in Tuolumne. By the 1860 Census Edwin and Vesta were in Beaver, Utah and moved to Overton by the 1870 Census, which was in the Utah Territory but is now in Nevada, and finally arrived in Escalante by the 1880 Census. Edwin and Vesta are living in Boulder by the 1900 Census, which is about 28 miles from Escalante. Edwin died 9 September 1907 from a "Stone in the Bladder". His son  Adelbert filled out the death certificate and and did a butcher job on Edwin's Mother's name Phoebe Melissa  Knight Twitchell and spelled it Feby Malisia Knights.

Vesta was born 15 May 1843 in La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois. She is listed in the 1910 Census in Escalante next to her son William's family and in the 1920 Census living with her daughter Lucetta's family. Vesta died 1 January 1924.

Vesta actually had four Patriarchal Blessings, the first was in 1857 in Fillmore (which was the temporary territorial capital of utah). I can't read the handwriting to see who did the blessing, but the scribe signs it as Lenora. All the PB's say Vesta is from the tribe of Ephraim.

Vesta's second PB was done in 1876 in Beaver by John L. Smith. Sarah Jane Perkins Rogerson's PB was done by John L. Smith also. You can tell when John L. Smith does the PB because the handwriting is the same. Page 1.

PB #3 was in 1880 in Escalante by Evan M. Greene with Nelson S Bishop as the clerk.

PB #4 was also done in Escalante in 1900 by John Ashman with Lucetta Twitchell as recorder. Beatrice's second PB was also on 29 September 1900 by John Ashman with Lucetta Twitchell as recorder.

Edwin had his PB done on 28 Feb 1876, the same day as Vesta's second PB. I cropped the picture, but Edwin's PB is numbered 11 and Vesta's is 12. He is also from the tribe of Ephraim.
