honey

I still had a sore throat on Monday left over from having a tube down my throat last week. It was getting old and annoying to STILL have a sore throat. Tuesday Dave suggested honey. I've heard this before, but never tried it. I tried some honey in Rooibos tea, didn't really help. So I put butter and honey on toast, kinda like honeybutter back home. So this is day 3 with honey and day 2 with no sore throat! Hallelujah!!! I'm still coughing a little, but not nearly as bad. I was actually able to talk to my family on Skype without hurting! So if you have a sore throat and it won't go away, try honey!

Laporoscopy

I had a laporoscopy on Monday to check my fallopian tubes. Ugh, I still feel crappy! If this is what a hangover or C-section feels like, then I don't want them!!!

Before heading into surgery.

Yeah, I'm back, but I was dizzy at first. They wouldn't let me go home until I had eaten and went to the bathroom.

After eating and drinking tons of water, they wanted me to get ready to go home. But sitting up and going to the bathroom made me throw up, so the nurse injected a anti-nausea drug. The side effect was sleeping and a serious red nose! (The bowl is in case I throw up again. Can you tell I had on my hat and was getting ready?)

Finally home eating pizza, which is what I was craving.

Can you tell Dave likes taking pictures of me, especially when I am sleeping? The test showed I have partially blocked fallopian tubes, so we will be put on the fast track for IVF.

Engagversary

In December it was the anniversary of our engagement.
So Dave bought me flowers. They were pretty!

Skype Pictuers

My brother and his family went to Provo last week because our neighbor and friend died. It was sad, but his body was deteriorating. I feel bad for his wife because they had been married and best friends for almost 50 years. Good thing she has lots of kids and grandkids to keep her happy.

So I took pictures of my nieces and nephew while I was talking to them on Skype. This is of Brylee taking a break from writing me notes.

Corey and Brylee chatting with me. (Can you see me in the bottom right hand corner taking the picture? And my messages are open from Brylee's notes.)

The other two are cute as well! I am so lucky to have cute nieces and a nephew!

My Office

I share an office with all the PhD students from the School of Sports, Performing Arts, and Leisure. This is what the desk looks like. That is not a white board, but I wish! I usually sit with my back to the window so I can see who is coming through the door. (See my blue water bottle?)

This is facing the other direction. We all have lockers to put stuff in. I have two right now so I can put research equipment in the other.

This is what the 'lab' looks like. It's really the Black Box theatre, but it's really the only place I could do my research because I need to put the cameras up on the tech balcony/walkway. I always have the chairs moved out of the way so there is more space to dance in.

Walsall Town Centre

I took some pictures of the Walsall Town Center while I was waiting for the school bus back in December.

Birds just for Corey!

Snow Winter 2013

When it finally snowed a couple of weeks ago I managed to download some pictures.

I think it looks beautiful this way, but here in England everyone freaks about how they can't get around with snow. It's not really that big of a deal.

Christmas 2012

Yeah, I finally got Dave to download all my pictures from my phone, so here is Christmas.

Dave finally let me get a real Christmas tree after having a pathetic 6 incher the past two years. Doesn't it look pretty?!

Here are all the presents we got and a couple we hadn't given away yet. I absolutely LOVED getting Corn Chex and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese from my parents!

This is what the tree left behind. I think we will get a fake one next year and get the pine scented candle, because we still have needles in the house.

Photo Dump from London

Dave and I went to London so Dave could do his Medical for his visa. So here are some pictures I took on my phone.

This is at the Selfridges store. There is a new tv show here in England about how it was started by an American Harry Selfridge. It's on ITV, I'm not sure if you can access it in America.

We also went to Covent Gardens to eat at this really awesome burger joint.

He is not sitting on a chair, I don't know how he does it?

Dave had long hippy hair, we had the time, so we saw a SuperCuts and she did it in about 10 minutes.

The "after", not so hippy look.

The last thing we did was head over to Liecester Square to watch a movie and walk around.

Swiss clock

The M&M store

The Broadway show "The Book of Mormon" is in London now.

We saw Zero Dark Thirty and it was pretty good, but it is REALLY expensive in Leicester Square.

I took this picture so my family can know what the tube stop looks like before they get here to visit.

Here is a picture of a bird in the Marylebone Station as we are heading home, just for Corey. :)

Appendix

So I have been putting my thesis (that's what they call a dissertation here in England) together. I have mostly focused on my appendix this week. My professor wants me to add all the raw data, statistical data, informed consent, PAR-Q's, and anything else that looks relevant to the appendix. So I have added everything except my current project, which adds up to 165 pages so far. Yeah, I was shocked too when I looked down at that number on the right corner in Word. My Master's thesis was 101 pages total. Who knows what the total will end up being if this is just the appendix?! Crazy!

You can find this comic at PhD Comics.
