the flight

My Mom made me go home to Utah during Christmas break to do wedding planning (which was a good idea). I did the Paris to SLC flight on Delta/Air France and return. It was great. One long flight instead of having to get on and off different flights to eventually arrive at the destination. Always a problem when you live in the western states.
My only complaint would be the breakfast they served before landing in Paris, it was a wannabe McDonald's egg McMuffin (before landing in SLC they served pizza and ice cream!). I bought my ticket on Orbitz, because it was the cheapest website.

the ring

I haven't put up a picture of my ring yet, so here it is. I told Dave I wanted a unique ring. I didn't want a diamond that stuck out, I wanted it flat. I've had a bunch of friends lately where their diamonds have come out of the setting. This is called a channel setting. There are three diamonds and they are square. I really like it, but Caimon doesn't. Why would a 3 year old have an opinion about a ring?

wedding ties

A few months ago my Dad bought these ties for Dave, my brother, his brother, my Dad, and my nephew to wear for the wedding. Dave and I thought they looked good over email. But Corey and Caimon did not like them.

When I got to Utah, Caimon would not let me go anywhere without him, so we were at the mall when we stopped at Tie One On and I had Caimon look at the ties to see which one he wanted. Instead of picking a tie, he went straight over to the bow ties and said he wanted it. (I did tell him he had to pick purple or silver.) Since three year olds have a short attention span I wanted him to be sure of his choice, so I told him he had to be the one to tell Grandma. I made it sound like this had to be a firm decision and he would be letting Grandma down if he changed his mind. So I bought it, yeah it's hard to say no to the cutie!

wedding watch

I have done a little jewelry making while I'm here in Utah for the holidays. It's a watch to go with my wedding dress. My colors are purple and silver. It's a little long, so I need to fix it.

socialized medicine part 2

Ok, I had something simple and annoying, ingrown toe nail, back in June. So I asked the GP to refer me to a podiatrist to get it taken care of. In England that means the GP gets on his computer and sends in a referral request. Then I get a letter in the mail saying when and where the appointment will be. Usually this only takes a couple of weeks. I still haven't gotten my letter, ... and it's January.
My Mom decided I should come home to do some wedding planning, so I decided to get my toe fixed while I am in Utah. I just got back from the podiatrist, it only took 30 minutes. And there are people that want socialized medicine in America? I don't think it is a good idea.
