bridal shower

My Aunt Sally is like that really cool aunt you can talk to about anything and she knows how to do everything. She organized a fun bridal shower for me while I was at home in Utah in January.

Some of my Jensen cousins and their daughters.
They are too much fun to hang out with!

My mission companions and some of their daughters. Heather came all the way from Idaho for the party! In May, it will be 14 years since I was on mission.

Ann and Krystal have been my friends since Jr High! Krystal had a baby boy the end of December and was nice enough to bring him so we could see him.

Aunt Sally sent this poem as an invitation to give me money instead of presents (it was funny).

While living in England
Our very own Teri
Has met a great guy
And decided to marry

She’s home for a time
A bride’s shower we’ll throw
Celebrating her joy
With those that we know

Let’s please keep in mind
All the gifts she will carry
With TSA watching
Her flight back could be hairy

Don’t want to be tacky
Or even a nag
But the “green stuff” is easy
To pack in her bag

Please come wish her well
As she starts her new life
Teri needs your advice
Since she’ll soon be Dave’s wife

Aunt Kathy and the other Jensen's gave me a bag full of crisp $1.

It was hilarious! And then I had to unwrap them, my fingers were black afterward. :)

A living room full of fun!
Thanks everyone for coming!!!

shoes again

I thought I had posted about my new shoes, but I guess I didn't. I really wore my old ones out by all the walking I have been doing, since I don't have a car. I went to Ossine again with my Mom and they only had purple available in my favorite shoe (Nike Air Pegasus Bowerman Series). Bummer :( Oh well, I like these type of shoes too much so I got 'em.

CDG airport

I had a long layover in the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris in January. I took some pictures because they have some strange things in the terminal.

I had a nap on one of these for an hour.

This is what the terminal looks like inside.

I watched this squaty truck thing with the huge wheels tow planes around. Too goofy not to take a picture of.

this thing I've been doing for a while

After I graduated from high school I became a track and field official. I don't always get to do it every year, but I realized I have never taken pictures at a track meet I was officiating at. They pay pretty good and it's easy work. Sometimes you get to meet famous athletes too. While I was home I covered two meets at the BYU indoor track.

This is a picture of the finish line.

If you look closely you can see the starting line for the 50M dash and that is my Dad crossing the track.

Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day! And 2 months until the wedding! This is the first Valentine's Day I've had someone to celebrate with. Yeah I know weird, but I was either already broken up with someone, hadn't started a relationship with someone or not serious with a guy yet. So I always did like Valentine's but never had anyone to share with. In high school I would take a bag of those candy hearts to school and pass those out to everyone, it was always fun.
I bought Dave his present a while ago and couldn't hold it in any longer, so on Saturday I made him open it. It was a journal, he doesn't have one and one thing my Mother always said is that you should keep a journal because in a hundred years your family will know what happened in your life and why you did what you did, etc.

These are the flowers Dave gave me when I got off the plane in January.
A few years ago I watched my neighbor bring a bouquet of flowers and a big wrapped present into his home for his wife for Valentine's Day. At the time I thought, that would be something I would want in the future. Dave came home from working overtime with flowers in one hand and a big present in the other! Goal achieved! :)

quote

I saw this in an article I was reading this week:

"Individuals are known to process attitude-guiding information selectively, seeking information that agrees with their attitudes and avoiding information that does not.

secrets

I am REALLY bad at keeping secrets. So when my brother and sister-in-law told me back in December that she is pregnant again, but couldn't tell anyone, UGH! But since Sara announced on facebook that she is pregnant, thank heavens I can now tell people! Yippee!!! And I get to be an Aunt again!
